HKU-SCF High School Student Workshop Series – Protecting Your Personal Data

Coming to the second-year launch of the High School Student Workshop Series, HKU-SCF FinTech Academy is pleased to announce that our first face-to-face workshop, co-organized with HKU Computer Science Association(HKU CSA), HKU Fintech Student Association (HKU FTSA), and Una Technologies Limited (Una) and together supported by The Academy For The Talented titled “Protecting Your Personal Data” will be held on 4 Feb 2023 (Saturday).

Have you been receiving emails, phone calls, SMSs, or WhatsApp messages, which they can call out your name? New technological developments and the rise of the internet allowed many people access to the digital world by making it possible to do so from anywhere and anytime. But, with all its benefits, our personal data is getting leaked in more ways than you know.

With our digital footprints growing constantly, it is time to start taking necessary actions to protect ourselves. Through this interactive and informative workshop, you will learn the fundamental concept of data privacy, as well as the most common ways of personal information leakage in the real world, which you may not be aware of: Doxxing, Google Hack, Social Engineering, etc.
