The HKU-SCF FinTech Academy Women Mentorship Programme 2021/22 was launched on October 6, 2021. 10 women leaders from Standard Chartered and 10 BASc(FinTech) students from the University of Hong Kong were invited to form pairs of mentors and mentees. Ms. Mary Huen, Co-chair of the HKU-SCF FinTech Academy and Standard Chartered’s Chief Executive Officer for Hong Kong, Ms. Bernadette Tsui, Associate Vice President of the University of Hong Kong, and the Executive Team Members of the Academy, Professor Tak Wah Lam, Professor Siu Ming Yiu, Professor Chen Lin and Professor Douglas Arner were invited to the event.
The commencement of the mentorship programme aims to facilitate the growth and exposure of future women leaders in FinTech. The mentor-mentee pair will meet at least four times within the school year. Throughout the year-long programme, mentees can learn about the financial industry from their mentors, while the mentors can know more about the latest FinTech trends and technologies from their mentees. By then, they can form a two-way learning process.
